Why invest in photography?

When thinking about hiring a photographer, make sure you choose one that reflects your style (do you prefer bright and airy photos or more dramatic and moody tones?). Each of my clients will receive a collection of images that have been fully edited by hand and uploaded to an online gallery where they can choose favorites, download photos for personal use, and easily order prints from a professional photography lab. Please keep in mind that you are hiring a professional who loves to create beautiful images and capture memories that will last a lifetime!

What should I expect?

Each photography session is unique and designed for each particular client. Sessions can be planned, improvised, and recreated based on other images you like. Once you've chosen a package and date, you'll be asked to provide a $75 deposit fee to secure that date. From there, we will get in touch (via phone, email, or in person meet) to go over what you have in mind for a session, location possibilities, how many people will be present, and what to do to prepare for your session. The day of your session, just show up and try to have fun! Afterwards, the images from your session will be individually retouched and artistically edited to create a custom collection for you and your family to enjoy. A secure online gallery will be provided for you where you can view proofs, choose which images you would like edited to keep, select favorite images from the collection, download high resolution images, order prints, and so much more!

Do I have to order prints from the online gallery? Can I print my own images?

Take your images anywhere! The beauty of having digital images and your own print release allows you to print images where ever you prefer! I do highly recommend printing from the professional lab provided by your online gallery to ensure high quality images that won't fade or smudge over time. Plus, it's so easy to order prints straight from your online gallery!

What is a print release? Do I own the copyrights to my images?

A print release form allows you to print your photos where ever you want and as many as you want (even years from now!). However, I am not responsible for any printing not done by my own lab which uses high quality techniques that you many not get elsewhere. I highly recommend printing from the professional lab provided through your online gallery, they're truly fantastic! Also, you do not own the copyrights, just the right to print them where ever you'd like. Jenner Photography owns the copyrights to your photos.

What if I have to cancel? What if it rains?

Life happens! I completely understand that emergencies occur and things come up at the last minute. I do ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice of a cancellation (or as soon as you know you cannot make your scheduled time), that way I'm not the only one showing up to a session and waiting for hours by myself. We can work together to find a solution and reschedule your session. If you decide to reschedule the session, it should be done within a month of your originally scheduled session that was canceled. If you decide to cancel and not reschedule another session, your forfeit your deposit. Rain? Well, rain can definitely make for some interesting and memorable photos but unless we all have umbrellas it can also be quite a let down! Weather will always play a factor in any photo session and will be rescheduled accordingly.

What do we wear?

Anything goes! Clothing is very important in a photograph and many people spend hours in front of a mirror planning the "perfect outfit" for a session. Also, I know a lot of mothers stress over what the whole family will wear which can take away from enjoying the entire process. Honestly? What you wear depends on the type of session you're looking for. If you're planning a beach session, you may want to consider the time of year and whether or not you plan on walking in the water (shorts and dresses can be helpful in these sessions). If you're planning a spring or fall session, the weather may not always cooperate with you so it's a good idea to dress in layers or have extra clothing items waiting in the car (just in case you need to wear rain boots instead of ballet flats or a warmer coat instead of a thin sweater). Also, if you're planning a themed session, bring clothing and props appropriate for that theme such as blue or pink balloons for a gender reveal.

Keep in mind that wearing layers adds interest and texture to your collection. Chunky sweaters, scarves, hats, boots, buttons, fun jewelry, ribbons, ruffles, ties, coats, gloves, etc. all add extra detail and will make your photos visually pop that much more. Layers can also be removed during a session so your photos don't all look the same. Bold and vivid colors will add a ton variety and impact to your photos while pastels with give more of a soft and gentle tone. Families always tend to look best in colors that blend well together (this means to coordinate colors, not for everyone to wear the same exact thing!). For example, a photo session on the beach may choose fifty shades of blue to wear including navy, cobalt, cornflower, baby blue, teal, mint green, etc. The bottom line is to wear what you are comfortable in! You have to feel good in what you wear and make sure it represents your style. You can bring multiple outfits and are welcome to change as many times as you want (all within the scheduled session time).
